Stellantis commits to compensating European consumers for the diesel problems involving Adblue

Car manufacturer Stellantis has made a commitment to the joint European consumer authorities to compensate consumers with diesel cars suffering from Adblue problems. These problems occurred in various European countries, including the Netherlands. Diesel cars of various Stellantis brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, and Opel, equipped with Adblue-tanks had software problems as a result of which the engine stopped unnecessarily, and the Adblue-tank had to be replaced early. These repair costs could be quite high.

Following discussions with the European consumer authorities, Stellantis has made a commitment to compensate affected consumers for the harm that they have suffered. Consumers with cars equipped with Adblue-tanks of one of the Stellantis brands, purchased between August 2014 and August 2020, may qualify for this compensation. Stellantis will create a platform where affected consumers can come forward. The European consumer authorities will closely follow this process.
